Logic Pro 9

I will be writing about Logic Pro 9 DAW program. What it can do for you as far as audio recording, music production, mixing and mastering. I have used Logic for about three years and it has to taken me a while to get use to the workflow of Logic.

Logic is easy to use for audio recording and if you have a Digidesign interface you will be able to use it with Logic as well. That is the nice thing about Logic you have an endless choice of audio interfaces that one is able to use. Logic does not hold you back with track counts like as ProTools does. The track count is affected by your performance of your computer.

Logic is hands down a great tool for all around music production as well. Logic Pro 9 comes with a sampler, drum machine, and sounds just to name a few things. All this is a software base program, which are very powerful when used to their full potential.

Mixing and mastering in Logic Pro 9 is great, there are a lot of presets to help you get started anywhere from EQing all the way down to templates for mastering as well. There are templates for any type of set up needed out of the box. When you start up Logic you can see the templates ranging from Production, 24-track recording, mastering and much more. If you have a set up you like you can also save it as a template.

Pros
• You are able to you use just about any audio interface with Logic Pro 9.
• Great for production work because it comes with software sampler, drum machine and sounds.
• Easy set up right out of the box once installed.
• I like it because now it is my main DAW for production, recording, mixing and mastering.
• Able to save custom templates
• You can pretty much customize just about anything and everything with Logic Pro 9.

Cons
• Midi set up, meaning when your trying to set up your keyboard so that you can see your patches in Logic should be made a little bit easier.
• It is MAC base only sorry PC people.
• It is hard getting use to the audio editing with Logic, as ProTools is pretty easy to do editing with.

I recommend buy this program if you want to a DAW system that will not hold you back with audio interfaces and production. Hands down a must buy for anyone getting started or is looking for a switch.

Here is a great book for anyone that really want to learn how to use Logic Pro or Express 9. I purchased this book about two months ago and it has help with understand Logic Pro 9.
