I spend a lot of time researching on-line about music publishing, because there are always new things a person may learn. I came across some information about how to get paid royalties from Internet radio stations, Sirius Radio, and Pandora. I thought that being registered with BMI, ASCAP or SESAC would take care of this, but it does not. A separate registration with SoundExchange is required in order to collect royalties when your music is in rotations on digital and satellite music providers.
SoundExchange pays royalties to performers and copyright owners. This is great if you own your own music production because you then get paid twice for your work, how great is that. Performers and copyright owners should always be proactive in registering with SoundExchange, BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC to collect their money.
